Today · 6 handoffs run through people

  1. Inquiries land in an inbox and are retyped into the customer list.
  2. Customer details are copied by hand into the next system.
  3. Invoices are re-keyed from job notes.
  4. Attachments are saved to whichever desktop opened them.
  5. Confirmations and reminders are written one at a time.
  6. Bookings are checked against the calendar by phone or email.

  1. 01

    Plain-language findings

A written priority list of what to fix first, without jargon.

  2. 02

    Basics before extras

Backups, multi-factor sign-in, updates and access come first.

  3. 03

    Documented as we go

Accounts, devices and changes written down for you to keep.

  4. 04

    Mapped from your process

Automation starts from how your team really works, not a software pitch.

Services

IT services for Honolulu and neighbor-island teams

Reliable everyday IT and the automation that removes repetitive work, from one local team.

Everyday IT support, with the security basics done properly

For teams where IT sits with whoever is “good with computers”. We become the contact for users, devices and email, close the common security gaps, and write down how everything fits together.

Usually the right start when

  • Problems wait until someone has a free moment
  • Backups exist, but nobody has tested a restore
  • Former staff or vendors may still have access
Not sure where you stand? Run the free IT Health Check

A dependable contact for the day-to-day: users, devices, email and the problems that stop work, handled remotely, with on-site visits when the work needs someone in person.

  • Everyday help
  • Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace
  • New-hire setup
  • Departing-staff offboarding

The everyday protections every small business should have: multi-factor sign-in, backups with a tested restore, updated devices and access that matches who works for you.

  • Support2 questions

You getAn overall score, a score per area and up to five fixes in priority order. Asking us for a plan afterwards is optional.

Tool 02 · Workflow Cost Calculator

Your numbers

What does one copy-paste task cost you a year?

Pick a repetitive task, like retyping orders or building a weekly report. The full calculator adds your estimate of how much could be automated.

Enter your three numbers to see the yearly hours and cost.

People × hours × hourly cost × 48 working weeks. Hourly cost means wage plus payroll costs. An estimate, not a quote.

Across the islands

One team in Honolulu, the islands connected

We work from Honolulu and support teams on the other islands, mostly remotely. What changes between islands is the planning: outages, storm season, shipping times and colleagues who are a flight apart.

The planning question

Can someone on Maui or Hawaiʻi Island be set up, helped and offboarded without anyone getting on a plane?

Guide: Small business IT checklist

What to put in place

  • Run everyone on one account system, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, so access is granted and removed in one place.
  • Enroll multi-factor sign-in during setup, with a recovery method that does not depend on being in the office.
  • Send laptops out configured and encrypted, and keep a device list showing who has what.

Security & reliability

Layered, practical and checked, not just switched on

Everyday problems such as a phished password or a backup that won’t restore are what these layers guard against. We set up each one, then confirm it works.

  1. Accounts & sign-in

Set upMulti-factor sign-in on email first, then banking, payroll and key apps, with recovery options set up.

CheckEvery user enrolled; no shared logins on critical accounts.

  2. Access & offboarding

Set upAdmin rights limited to named, current people, and a departing-staff checklist.

CheckAccess reviewed; former staff and vendors removed as soon as you tell us they have left.

  3. Backups

Set upAutomatic, off-site backups of email, files and key systems.

CheckA real restore, tested and written down, not just a green status light.

  4. Devices

Set upAutomatic operating-system and browser updates, and built-in protection such as Microsoft Defender turned on.

CheckDevice list kept current, with update and protection status reviewed.

  5. Documentation

Set upA simple record of accounts, devices, subscriptions and who to call.

CheckKept by you, updated when something changes.

This is practical security for small teams. We are not a 24/7 monitoring service or a compliance auditor, and we do not claim certifications. If your situation needs those, we will say so early.

Questions

Questions about IT support and automation

Don’t see yours? Call (808) 666-3188 or send us a question.

What IT services do you offer in Honolulu?

Everyday IT support (users, devices, email and the problems that stop work), Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration, security basics such as multi-factor sign-in and tested backups, and workflow automation, integrations and dashboards that remove manual work between your tools.

Are you a managed IT services provider?

We provide ongoing IT support for small and mid-sized Hawaii teams, with the scope written down: what is covered, how requests reach us and how we respond. We are not a large managed-services operation with a 24/7 help desk, and if you need one we will tell you.

Do you support businesses on the neighbor islands?

Yes. We work with businesses across Oʻahu, Maui, Hawaiʻi Island and Kauaʻi, remote-first. In Honolulu we schedule on-site visits when the work needs someone in person; for the neighbor islands, any on-site needs are discussed case by case before work starts.

What happens in the first few weeks?

We start with an assessment of accounts, devices, backups and how support works today, then give you a written priority list. Urgent risks, such as missing multi-factor sign-in or a backup that has never been restored, come first.

How much does IT support cost?

It depends on the number of people and devices, the tools you use and how much hands-on help you need. We recommend a scope after the assessment and put the price in writing before any work starts. The IT Health Check is free.

We already have an IT person. Can you still help?

Yes. Some small teams have one person who handles IT on top of their real job. We can back them up, take on the routine work and document the setup so the knowledge is not held by one person.

What does “workflow automation” mean for a small business?

Connecting the tools you already use so information moves automatically: for example, a web form that creates a customer record, a task and an invoice draft without anyone retyping it.

Who is behind Hawaii Tech Solutions?

Hawaii Tech Solutions is the IT and systems service of NogaTech IT Solutions LLC, a Honolulu software company. Larger custom software projects are handled by the same team.
